SHAPE & FUNCTION
Bespoke contemporary sculptures created to inhabit the fireplace, enriching the focal point of the room, with or without flames.
Steel rods are shaped and structured to resemble a Teepee. Standing tall the sculpture has a powerful presence whether the fire is lit or not.
Loop was inspired by the rings around the planet Saturn. The fire makes a stellar statement – with flames from an invisible burner leaping up through a sculpture of steel loops.
Inspiration for Loop came from the rings around the planet Saturn and Loop the Loop is an extension of that design, with continuing, swirling rings of steel. The fire makes a dramatic statement – with flames from an invisible burner leaping up through a sculpture of extending steel loops.
Off The Loop is Loop with a kick! When Loop expands out of its box it becomes a more abstract form.
As Earth’s only natural satellite, the moon has a distinctly innate impact on CAB. The fire makes a vivid lunar statement, with the flames dancing through a sculpture of steel rings.
Moons sculpture can be vertical or lateral and sized according to the inner shape of the fireplace.
Metropolis is Cathy Azria’s homage to Fritz Lang’s classic movie of 1927. It features tall strips of metal echoing the film’s extraordinary skylines. Flames lick through the steel skyscrapers with a mesmerising effect.
Urchin is a dramatic and distinctive Fire Sculpture inspired by the explosive energy that radiates from the core of our own most powerful and primal heat source, the sun.
Coil is a development from the Loop fireplace which consists of individual steel rings of different sizes. In Coil, Cathy experiments with continuous springs of steel, brought to life by flames from an invisible burner leaping up through the sculpture.
Fused is the latest creation from Cathy Azria and the start of a fresh family of fire sculptures. An assemblage of industrial elements, Fused is born of Cathy’s desire to inject her distinctive fire sculptures with a new freedom of artistic expression resulting in this striking structural still life.
Tapering steel plates are stacked and leant against each other to define geometric planes through a sculptural form. Added drama is created by the stack’s apparent (but not actual!) instability. Once the concealed burner is ignited, flames lick through the steel elements which begin to glow, providing a compelling heat source that still radiates warmth hours after the fire has been switched off.
A concept developed for both inside and out, Nest sits over a concealed gas burner and can be filled with faux logs or coals. Outside in the garden or on a terrace, Nest can be used as a brazier to burn real logs.
This fire sculpture is inspired by the kinaesthetic energy of a coiled spring. There is an innate tension in each carefully placed springs, creating a feeling of energy even in the stillness – and as the flames dance and flicker through the steel spirals the sense of dynamic movement is enhanced. It can be ordered as either a vertical or lateral version.
These Fireplaces are designed to sit on a bespoke electric box and are illuminated with LED. Perfect for people who are unable to use a flue or who want to simulate a real fire. All of Cathy’s sculptural designs can be made for LED fireplaces.
Developed from Triangles for a client named Alexandra, Cathy named the resulting design Xandra. In this version the triangles float freely, travelling through many different angles, they are not fixed. Curves flow through them creating peace and harmony in a world of pointed edges and uniform shapes. The juxtaposition of the floating shapes and sharp angles gives the sculpture a gentle yet dramatic, almost cubist feeling.
In true timeless and effortless form, the butler trolleys are as versatile as your imagination. With endless versatility for lunch, dinner, drinks, or simply becoming an extension of the office.
Bonfire brings the idea of burning branches inside the house. The steel rods glow in the fire as the steel begins to expand, creating a dramatic centre piece.

Urchin is a dramatic and distinctive Fire Sculpture inspired by the explosive energy that radiates from the core of our own most powerful and primal heat source, the sun. Like all of Cathy Azria’s fire sculptures, each Urchin is unique, hand-made, signed and numbered; designed specifically for its location and in consultation with the client. After a few months, a patina develops from the natural oxidation process of the flames on the steel, adding further to the absolute individuality of each setting.
